Family originated visionary approach and leadership style helping him for facing any challenge in business

Jobayer Tansim Ahmed, an industrialist and highly recognized among the new generation of young business people, has been playing a significant role in the growth and development of business in Bangladesh. Coming from a family with a strong business and industrial background, he has inherited a rich legacy and has successfully carried it forward into the third generation.

Born in 1985, Jobayer Tansim grew up with a deep understanding and passion for business. His grandfather, Jalal Uddin Ahmed, laid the foundation of the family’s business ventures and established various successful enterprises.

From Jute to food and textile to pharmaceuticals, the family’s businesses flourished under their capable leadership. Chistia Food, KARMO Industries and Elite Foam were their most renowned ventures. Their famous Shah Fatehullah Textile Mills Limited, which is the first cotton spinning mill of independent Bangladesh, has paved the way for today’s massive growth of the country’s textile and apparel sector. Jobayer Tansim Ahmed completed his early education in Udayan Bidyalaya, a well renowned institute under Dhaka University, where he completed his SSC in Science. He continued his education at Rifles Public College, obtaining his HSC degree in 2002. Jobayer Tansim Ahmed then pursued a BBA degree at North South University.

Throughout his academic journey, Jobayer Tansim had been actively engaged in extracurricular activities, showcasing his leadership skills and diverse sectoral interests. He was a Boys Scout, participated in Debating Society, Science Clubs, and was a cadet of the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC).

After completing a year at North South University, Jobayer Tansim Ahmed transferred his credits to University of Wollongong in Australia, where he completed his graduation, majoring in Strategic Planning and Management. Mr. Jobayer also has a diploma in Leadership from UOW. In 2007, he returned to Bangladesh and joined the family business.

Jobayer Tansim’s expertise and business acumen extend beyond his family’s enterprises. He served as the youngest Director on the Board of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association, the second largest trade association in the country. Additionally, he serves as Secretary General at the Australia Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was Treasurer in the Bangladesh Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was also served as a Director in Bangladesh Cotton Association.

As an IT enthusiast, Jobayer Tansim is a Certified Data Centre Professional, a Certified IT Project Manager and a Network Specialist, experienced in Designs & Publications. His diverse interests and involvement in various businesses and social activities highlight his commitment to contributing to the overall growth and development of Bangladesh. In his personal life, Jobayer Tansim Ahmed is happily married to Khandaker Raisa Ekram and is a proud father of two sons, Umayer Jalal Ahmed and Zuhayer Jalal Ahmed, and a daughter named Asma Shafinaz Ahmed.
