A Lifelong Commitment to Bangladesh’s Development and Global Connectivity
Anisul Kabir Jasir, a visionary leader and philanthropist, stands as a remarkable bridge between the United States and Bangladesh, using his unique position to drive social impact, economic development, and community empowerment. Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and migrating to the U.S. in 1990, Jasir has dedicated his career to enhancing the lives of people in both countries, particularly through his longstanding association with the Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) and his work with numerous philanthropic initiatives.
Jasir’s journey to becoming a respected figure in the Bangladeshi diaspora began during his academic years at Dhaka University, where he studied management. However, his professional career took an unexpected turn when he moved to New York, where he began working as a reporter for Weekly Thikana in 1990. This early exposure to journalism sharpened his ability to communicate effectively and advocate for causes close to his heart. It was through his work with Weekly Thikana that Jasir’s involvement with the Dhaka Ahsania Mission began.
Since 1993, Jasir has served as a key representative of Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This pivotal role enabled him to play a vital part in fostering international partnerships and garnering support for DAM’s diverse charitable projects. He was particularly influential in fundraising for the Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital (AMCGH) in Dhaka, a critical healthcare institution offering affordable cancer care to the people of Bangladesh. Jasir’s contributions to the project have been invaluable, as he has been involved in raising funds since the hospital’s inception.
In 2015, Kazi Rafiqul Alam, the president of DAM and founder of AMCGH, invited Jasir to return to Dhaka and continue his vital work. Since then, Jasir has served as a consultant for fundraising efforts aimed at expanding and sustaining DAM’s healthcare and social services. His efforts have significantly contributed to the hospital’s growth, helping to provide life-saving treatments to underserved communities in Bangladesh.
Jasir’s philanthropic endeavors extend beyond healthcare. From 2020 to 2022, he served as the Director of Spreeha Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on empowering underprivileged communities in Bangladesh by providing educational resources, healthcare, and skill development programs. Through his leadership, Spreeha Foundation expanded its reach, helping improve the lives of countless individuals across the country.
In 1999 he organized TechBangla Conference in New Jersey and in 2000 he organized another conference in Dhaka for the development of Bangladesh by NRB experts, where in both conference Dr. Mohammad Yunus was the chief guest. In 2010 co-founded NRB Business Network to motivate and consult NRB’s to invest in Bangladesh. In 2024, Jasir took a bold step by co-founding Billions for Bangladesh (BfB), a global initiative aimed at driving the economic development of New Bangladesh. Recognizing the need for collective action from the Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) community worldwide, Jasir and his fellow co-founders rallied diaspora members to invest in Bangladesh’s future. Billions for Bangladesh serves as a platform for the diaspora to unite and contribute to the country’s economic growth, leveraging resources, knowledge, and connections to create sustainable opportunities for development.
In addition to his philanthropic and humanitarian work, Jasir serves as the CEO of Impact Solutions Group in New York, a company that offers business solutions and consulting services across various industries. He also holds the position of Bangladesh Liaison Secretary for the America Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (ABCCI), where he fosters collaboration between American and Bangladeshi businesses, aiming to strengthen trade relations and promote bilateral economic growth.
Through his multifaceted roles, Jasir has become a prominent figure in both the Bangladeshi-American community and the wider global landscape. His work at the intersection of business, healthcare, and social service continues to inspire those around him, and his legacy is one of selfless service and a deep commitment to his homeland.
As a passionate advocate for his country’s development, Jasir’s career exemplifies the impact that one individual can have in creating change, not only in their home country but also within the international community. His ability to forge strategic partnerships, mobilize resources, and drive economic and social growth highlights his enduring dedication to building a brighter future for Bangladesh and its people.
Today, as he continues to consult on various projects for the Dhaka Ahsania Mission, lead Impact Solutions Group, and serve on numerous boards and foundations, Jasir remains a tireless champion for Bangladesh’s progress. His story is a powerful reminder of the transformative potential of collaboration, compassion, and commitment to creating a positive impact on society.
