M G Moula Miah MBE, FRSA, FIH, MCMI, stands as a remarkable figure in the UK-Bangladesh business landscape, serving as the President of the UK Bangladesh Catalyst of Commerce and Industry (UKBCCI). Renowned for his entrepreneurial spirit and philanthropic efforts, Miah has successfully navigated the complexities of both the UK and Bangladeshi markets, establishing a legacy of innovation and community service.
Born and raised in Bangladesh, Miah completed his secondary education before relocating to the UK in 1980. His academic journey continued at Solihull College of Technology, where he honed the skills that would later underpin his business ventures. Miah began his career in the family clothing manufacturing business while gaining valuable experience in the hospitality sector at a family-owned restaurant. This dual exposure laid the groundwork for his future endeavors.
In 1987, Miah fully committed to the hospitality industry, launching the multi-award-winning Rajnagar International restaurant. This initial success propelled him to establish a chain of restaurants alongside his family, ultimately expanding into hotel management and property development in both the UK and Bangladesh. By 2010, he founded the MBM Business Group, encompassing various sectors including agro-industry, food production, media, and construction. Notably, he inaugurated MBM Builders Mart BD-UK, Bangladesh’s first one-stop building materials superstore, aimed at revolutionizing the local construction market.
