A two-day international conference, the NRB World Summit 2026, will be held in Dhaka on December 28–29, aiming to strengthen ties between Bangladesh and its global diaspora while creating new opportunities in business, investment, technology and development.
The summit will take place at the Sheraton Hotel in the capital, bringing together Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs), entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and policymakers from different parts of the world.

A press conference marking the upcoming summit was held on November 1 at 12 noon at the Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club in Dhaka. Organisers shared details of the summit’s objectives, preparations and planned activities.
Speaking at the press conference, NRB World President and Founder Mohammad Shahiduzzaman Torik said that expatriate Bangladeshis could play a significant role in the country’s economic and social development through their knowledge, experience, professional skills, international networks and investments.
He said NRB World was established to create meaningful opportunities to utilise the potential of the global Bangladeshi community for the development of Bangladesh.
According to him, NRB World began its journey in 2014 with an event at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore. Since then, the organisation has organised activities and conferences in Bangladesh, the United States and Dubai, among other destinations. Its network now extends to more than 50 countries.
The organisers expect around 1,000 participants from across the world at the 2026 summit.
The two-day programme will feature discussions on business and investment, technology and artificial intelligence (AI), skills development, employment, energy, sustainable development and Bangladesh’s future economic prospects. The event will also host the Global Health Summit 2026, focusing on healthcare services, medical technology, international health cooperation and investment opportunities in the healthcare sector.

The organisers said a key objective of the summit is to establish effective business connections between NRBs and local entrepreneurs. Networking sessions, business matchmaking, investment discussions and initiatives to engage young entrepreneurs will therefore be among the major activities. Special discussions will also highlight the leadership and contributions of women in the diaspora.
The press conference was further informed that NRB World is planning to develop an effective framework to attract diaspora investment and connect international investors with local entrepreneurs. Different initiatives, including investment facilitation and commission-based proposals, will also be discussed.
To strengthen the summit’s international outreach, NRB World has already undertaken promotional and networking activities in several countries. Press conferences have been held in the United Kingdom and France, alongside meetings and discussions with expatriate Bangladeshis, business leaders and community representatives in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and various European countries.
The organisation has also undertaken several publication initiatives to highlight the achievements, contributions and potential of successful Bangladeshis living abroad. Through these initiatives, the organisers aim to recognise diaspora achievements while showcasing opportunities for their greater engagement and investment in Bangladesh.
Among those present at the press conference were NRB World Founder Enamul Haque Enam, Directors Anisul Kabir Jasir and Rehan Reza, and Regional Director Sumaiya Zaman.
According to the organisers, NRB World Summit 2026 is envisioned not merely as a conference but as a platform for building long-term cooperation between Bangladesh and its global diaspora through investment, knowledge exchange, entrepreneurship and international business partnerships.
